April 8, 2018
It has been a difficult weekend in communities of all sizes across the province and the country. As we go about our day and week, whether its going to appointments, picking up groceries, and sending our children to school, it is evident, without a single word being spoken, that there has been a tremendous, incalculable loss. This tragedy has landed like an unexpected punch to the stomach and has left people across this country in a state of morning.
To look for a silver lining in this type of tragedy is a fools errand, one cannot be found. The men whose lives were cut short represented the best of us. Leaders, the kind of men who contributed to their communities, and would have continued to do so but for the tragic events of April 06, 2018. There is no way to retrieve what has been lost and there is no way to make our province whole again.
We offer to the families, friends and loved ones the only thing that we can offer, and that is our condolences. We offer those in the form of flowers, donations, messages and cards and we offer it in the form of ubiquitous sorrow that fills our offices and is expressed through warm foreheads and tear cooled cheeks. We grieve with you, and we are forever sorry for your loss.
To those still in hospital, we wish you a speedy recovery and offer our support in any way we can. We are cheering for you. Stay strong and continue to fight. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. It is going to be a long journey but know that you are not making that journey alone.
We would also like to express our tremendous admiration to the first-responders and medical professionals. Your tireless efforts saved lives. No one should ever have to bear witness to a scene like the one which unfolded Friday evening but you did, and you did it well. Based on all accounts your professionalism, strength, and courage, saved lives. From front-line RCMP to fire & rescue, the doctors, nurses and medical professionals, your response to an incredible and overwhelming situation was beyond reproach.
On behalf of the team at ACT audiovisual, take care.
